Overview
About hamour
Orange spotted grouper lives on coastal reefs and in brackish and mangrove waters across the Indian Ocean and western Pacific. It has firm, white flesh with large flakes and a clean flavour.
Hamour is the most popular fish in the UAE. Local stocks are heavily overfished, so most of the region’s supply is now imported: fresh from Oman, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India, and frozen or farmed from India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan and China.
