Overview
About king mackerel
Narrow barred Spanish mackerel, known in the trade as seer fish or kingfish, is a large migratory species of the Indian Ocean and western Pacific. It is caught by gillnet, troll and line and commonly reaches around 120 cm.
Its firm, white to pinkish flesh has very few bones, which makes it a premium fish for steaks. It is the most valuable finfish in Oman and a favourite across the GCC, India and Pakistan.
